Name: Reading and Conversation: “Myth, Trauma, and Transformation: A Conversation in Poems”
Date: April 13, 2021
Time: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM CDT
Event Description:
Bridget Lowe’s most recent collection of poetry My Second Work came out this year from Carnegie Mellon University Press. Jenny Molberg’s most recent book of poetry Refusal was published this year by Louisiana State University Press. Both poets will read selections from their book and discuss how the collections engage myth, fantasy, metaphor, and sci-fi as forms of psychic survival in response to trauma. We will also discuss the process of completing a collection of poetry and the role our friendship played in both newly released books. This program will be hosted using the On24 meeting software, and you can register for this program directly with On24. A Johnson County Library staff member will contact registrants before the program, via the email you registered with, providing instructions on how to access the On24 meeting. You do not need to download any software or create an account.
