Driving Directions:

We offer free travel for locations of 20 miles from Shawnee and offer a full array of video options for those outside that area. We will drive outside the free 40 mile round trip, for additional fee.

About Us

Keep it Simple Stupid (K.I.S.S.) Dog Training provides private, positive reinforcement-based dog training in clients’ homes throughout the Kansas City metro. Founder, owner and sole trainer Mike Deathe, CPDT-KA, began training professionally in 2008 and founded K.I.S.S. Dog Training in 2010 with the mission, “Training Owners, Not Dogs.”

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kansas and helps owners address puppy behavior, household manners, leash walking, reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression, separation anxiety and other behavioral concerns where they actually occur.

K.I.S.S. Dog Training focuses on teaching owners how to manage, modify and improve behavior using practical, humane techniques they can continue between sessions. Mike does not promise quick fixes or guarantee that every dog can simply be “fixed.” The goal is to create realistic expectations, improve communication and give owners the tools and confidence to become their dog’s best trainer.

Transparency is a core part of the K.I.S.S. approach. Pricing, policies, training options, methods, expectations, Fine Print and Frequently Asked Questions are published on the website so prospective clients can understand the process before deciding whether K.I.S.S. Dog Training is the right fit.

Mike is also an author, podcaster and public speaker, and K.I.S.S. Dog Training has been recognized multiple times as one of Johnson County’s best dog trainers.
